1. Introduction

Lingua Franca e.U. (hereinafter "Lingua Franca") is committed to protecting the data sent to us by our site visitors and clients. This policy details the collection, processing and storage of any personal data received from site visitors and clients. By using this website, you consent to the use of cookies as pertaining to the terms of this policy.

2. Data collection

(a) Lingua Franca does not collect any data about you from this website. This website does not use Google Analytics.

(b) Data may be collected from this website through third party social plugins. See section 9 of this privacy policy for more information.

(c) A certain amount of information is required from you to process any queries, requests or orders placed with Lingua Franca. The collection of this data is for business purposes only in accordance with Art. 6 a-f of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (EU GDPR).

(d) The information required for section 2 para. c includes some or all, but is not limited to the following:

  • Your name/company name

  • Your email

  • Your physical address/registered address of your company

  • Your VAT ID

  • Your source documents

  • Any reference documents

 

3. Data processing

(a) The legal basis for processing your personal data is the overriding legitimate interest of Lingua Franca in accordance with Art. 6 para 1 section a-f of the EU GDPR.

(b) Your personal data is processed in order to

  • Answer your queries

  • Complete your project

  • Complete invoicing and bookkeeping tasks

 

4. Data storage

(a) All bookkeeping documentation and records (e.g. accounts, receipts, business papers, invoices etc.) are kept for a period of seven (7) years as set down in § 132 para. 1 of the Austrian Federal Fiscal Code (BAO).

(b) Documentation not included in para. a above (e.g. source documents, reference documents) is also kept for a period of seven (7) years for reference purposes pertaining to the requirements of the Fiscal Code in para. 1 above unless otherwise stated.

(c) Personal data shall only be collected for the business purposes set out under sections 2 and 3 of this policy.

5. Transfer/sharing of data

(a) Your data will never be shared with any third parties without your consent.

(c) Some information may be transferred from this website via social media plugins. See section 9 of this privacy policy for more information.

6. Deletion

(a) Under the EU GDPR you have the right to the deletion or correction/editing of the personal data held about you.

(b) The right to deletion under the EU GDPR excludes the right to delete or otherwise alter any bookkeeping or fiscal documentation required under the BAO. This information must be stored for a period of seven (7) years under Austrian law (§ 132, para. 1 BAO) and is therefore exempt from the deletion clause under the EU GDPR.

(c) If you wish to delete or correct/edit any other information not covered by para. b above, please send an email to info@linguafrancastudio.com.

 

7. Access

(a) Your personal information cannot be accessed by any third parties. Third parties here are understood to be any person or entity other than Lingua Franca.

(b) Any documentation sent to Lingua Franca necessary for project completion such as source documents, reference files etc. will never be shared with any other party other than those mentioned in this paragraph.

(c) Under Art. 15 of the EU GDPR you have the right to access the data Lingua Franca stores about you. This includes any and all information provided to us at any point during the enquiry, quotation and project completion stages. Please be aware that this information may sometimes be provided in redacted form in order to protect the privacy rights of Lingua Franca, other clients or partners. This information will be provided within fourteen (14) working days after receipt of your request. To request a machine-readable copy of this information, please write to info@linguafrancastudio.com.

 

8. Cookies
